Outlet does not mean imitation, undocumented or automatically defective jewellery.
Not a different kind of diamond
An outlet diamond is not a synthetic label or a lower species of stone. The product must still be described according to what it actually contains, including whether the diamond is natural or laboratory-grown.
Not an excuse for missing information
A low price should not replace carat, colour, clarity, metal purity or condition information. Where an independent laboratory report is included, the report details should match the stone supplied.
Not automatically damaged
Outlet can simply mean end-of-line or specially priced stock. If a piece has a condition note, previous sizing or another material fact, it should be disclosed separately. The individual product description is decisive.
The right way to compare
Compare the full specification, the number and size of stones, workmanship, after-sales service and documentation. This gives a fairer picture than comparing discount percentages alone.
